1920’s Baseball Bat - Winchester Model 2400

A 1920’s Winchester Baseball Bat - Model 2400. The Winchester Repeating Arms Company was renowned for their rifles, shotguns, pistols and other firearms, but for a stretch in the 1920's they also offered a very comprehensive line of athletic sporting goods. The vintage baseball bat shown above is an example that was offered in Winchester catalog. The bat has a great appearance with the Winchester logo and model 2400 deeply burned into the wood.

1920’s Vintage Baseball Bat - Chick Autry

This is a very unusual 1920’s Chick Autry Model Baseball Bat made by the A. J. Reach Company from Philadelphia, PA. The A. J. Reach Sporting Goods Company did manufacture player model baseball bats but they produced significantly fewer than Spalding or Louisville Slugger. That being said, the quality was nothing less, as is the case here with this high quality Chick Autry model. In addition to being of high quality, the markings are beautiful, the wood grain is tight and the surface is like glass! Chick Autry played his professional baseball career exclusively in the American League. Starting with the New York Yankees, then with the Cleveland Indians and finishing with the Chicago White Sox. A gorgeous bat in all regards with a condition of solid NR-MT to MINT.

His professional baseball career began in 1915 with the St. Louis Browns and ended in 1930 with the Boston Braves. He batted over .400 twice with a monster career batting average of .340. He was one of baseball's greatest hitters.

1920’s Rogers Hornsby Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat

1920’s Rogers Hornsby Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat. This fine vintage baseball bat carries the endorsement of Hall of Fame great Rogers Hornsby. Hornsby's Hall of Fame career began in 1915 with the St. Louis Cardinals and ended in 1937. During those 23 seasons he awarded many of baseball's highest honors. Including winning the MVP and Triple Crown award two times each! He was one of baseball's greatest hitters. The bat has an ideal patina with deep, dark, bold markings.

1920’s GAME USED Louisville Slugger Bottle Bat

920’s GAME USED Louisville Slugger Bottle Bat. This model 125 was H&B's highest quality bat, the same grade wood was used for all professional model bats. This particular bat was among the "Louisville Slugger Find." It still has a good portion of the mailing information right on the bat, which is the way they were labeled back in the day. The bat has a gorgeous patina and bold markings. There is an area of wood loss shown in the fourth image above. This would have been the reason it was sent back to the factory, to have a new one turned out with the same specifications.

1921-24 Tim G. Hendryx Decal Baseball Bat

1921-24 Tim G. Hendryx Decal Baseball Bat

1921-24 Tim G. Hendryx Decal Baseball Bat. This gorgeous antique baseball bat is simply stunning! Timothy Green Hendryx was a utility outfielder who played with four different teams between the seasons of 1911 thru 1921. He was a good defensive outfielder and quite a line-drive hitter, Hendryx entered the majors in 1911 with the Cleveland Indians. He played with them for two years and then joined the New York Yankees, St. Louis Browns and then the Boston Red Sox. His most productive season was with the Red Sox in 1920. He put up a .328 batting average with 54 runs and 73 RBI's while appearing in 99 games.

Hendryx was traded to the Saint Paul Saints of the American Association in 1921, and in his only season with them, 1922, he lead the American Association with this model bat, as printed on the decal. He then moved to the PCL and played for the San Francisco Seals for the seasons of 1923 thru 1926. Therefore, this bat ,as it refers to leading the American Association, was likely to only have been offered for a year or two.

It measures 35 inches and is a heavy, club of a bat it exhibits no signs of ever having been used which is supported by the nearly flawless decal. You will find the more common big sellers such as Ty Cobb, Honus Wagner and Joe Jackson but this model decal would have had a local interest and as such, probably was not a big seller and this is the only example that we know to exist.

This scarce vintage baseball bat features the very attractive Spalding "double -diamond" logo burned into the center and his facsimile signature out on the business end. The markings are gorgeous and the surface is ideal. The condition is EX-MT to NR-MT!

1920-30’s Al Simmons Major League Model Baseball Bat

This is a very UNUSUAL 1920-30’s Al Simmons “Major League” Model Baseball Bat. This vintage baseball bat measures 36 inches in length and was produced by M. R. Campbell Sporting Goods Makers out of Tullahoma, Tennessee. Al Simmons is a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame.
