1932 Pepper Martin Louisville Slugger Baseball Bat. This is a Hillerich & Bradsby, bone rubbed, Pepper Martin model... one of the toughest player model bats and this one is a BEAUTY! Pepper Martin enjoyed a successful career of 13 seasons of professional baseball. He was 24 years old in 1928 when he signed with the St. Louis Cardinals. In 1931 Pepper Martin took the place of center fielder Taylor Douthit, who was traded to the Cincinnati Reds. He batted .300 as the Cardinals won the National League pennant. In the World Series that year, Martin batted .500 and stole five bases as the Cardinals defeated the Philadelphia Athletics in seven games. In 1934, Martin helped the Cardinals win the World Series again as he batted .355 and stole two more bases to win in seven games. The markings on this bat are absolutely perfect, the wood grain is beautiful and tight with an ideal surface and patina.
