Antique Football Candy Container - Turn of the Century

Offered here is an extremely rare and exquisitely detailed Football Candy Container that dates to the turn of the century. A very well made piece standing 9.5 inches tall, it was executed with great attention to detail. 1967 NFL Championship Program - the ICE BOWL

ITEM 10: Offered here is a 1967 NFL Championship Program from the ICE BOWL. This historic football game featured the Green Bay Packers hosting the Dallas Cowboys at Lambeau Field in the 35th NFL Championship Game. The Packers went on to win the tight battle by a score of 21-17. (Two weeks later the Packers defeated the Oakland Raiders in the second AFL-NFL Championship game which later became known as Super Bowl II) The ICE BOWL was so aptly named because the temperatures at game time were -15 F and with the wind chill factor it was -48 F. So cold that there was no pre-game or halftime band because the wood instruments froze and would not work, and the brass instruments would get stuck to the players' lips. Seven band members were hospitalized to treat hypothermia. From the heating system that failed to keep the field from freezing to referees who could not use their metal whistles and players who arrived to the game just in time because their vehicles didn't start,... it was brutal! Despite the conditions this program was held on to by the man who owned this program and attended the game. He reiterated much of the story to me personally. With the incredible cold, probably not many fans were concerned with their program but he was and now it can be yours! It remains in EX-MT condition free of rips, tears, and missing pages.
